The Power of Words (An Online ‘Topics Around Grief’ Discussion Workshop)
“Words have the power to transform one’s day from happy to sad or vice versa…” Please join us in a relaxed and welcoming environment to reflect upon times when the words of others have (words, a sentence, a story, or an act) left us feeling hurt, even devastated … or, alternately, deeply grateful. Bereavement is a time when the power of words can seem especially strong. We will carefully explore what it was about the words, the sentence, the context in which it was said, etc. that had its power in helping or hindering. Perhaps it wasn't the words themselves, but the tone, that made the difference. Unlike the famous saying, our words and the words of others can hurt, but equally they can enliven and enrich.
