It’s commonly believed that men and women grieve differently…and there is much we see to confirm this. What are some of these differences? Equally, what are some of the similarities in how men and women grieve?
Also, if we expect that men and women will grieve in different, gendered ways, are we inadvertently shaming people whose expression of grief falls outside a “gendered norm”?
What’s your experience? What do you think?
The Facilitator: ANDREW WEATHERHEAD was the President of TCFV. He is the bereaved father of MAX and bereaved brother of CAROLINE.
Feel welcome to arrive any time after 2pm to settle in, have a coffee and chat. We will commence the session at 2:30pm sharp.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Topics Around Grief sessions are different from TCFV support group meetings, focussing on a particular topic, rather than “where we are at in our grief”. If you are new to TCFV and the experience of discussing your grief, we highly recommend you first attend group meetings for a period of time, as Topics Around Grief sessions have a singular focus and cannot meet all needs.
For group meeting details, please feel welcome to call us on 9888 4944 / 1300 064 068
