The impact of bereavement can create such stress that it can lead to estrangement from family members and friends. This session explores a therapeutic approach called Narrative Therapy, in particular its tools such as letter writing or “storying” an event. These tools can be especially healing when people have experienced estrangement, and this session will demonstrate why.

The Facilitator: Barbara Kessel is a Retired Family Therapist and Grief and Loss Counsellor. She is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. She has been a member of TCFV for twenty-nine years and is bereaved of three adult sons.
