In this discussion workshop, we will discuss a range of issues surrounding spirituality and bereavement. Issues explored will include:

• defining spirituality
• how bereavement challenges or strengthens our spiritual beliefs
• sense of presence experiences
• the broad range of spiritual beliefs that can comfort us in feeling closer to our children, siblings or grandchildren

The facilitator of this session will be Tony Gee. Tony is the bereaved father of Nellie, 15. He is a counselling psychologist with Life Is Foundation, and has undertaken research on spirituality and how it intersects with our experiences of grief and bereavement.

Feel welcome to arrive any time after 2pm to settle in, have a coffee and chat. We will commence the session at 2:30pm sharp.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Topics Around Grief sessions are different from TCFV support group meetings, focussing on a particular topic, rather than “where we are at in our grief”. If you are new to TCFV and the experience of discussing your grief, we highly recommend you first attend group meetings for a period of time, as Topics Around Grief sessions have a singular focus and cannot meet all needs.
