Beyond Loss, Towards Growth: Workplace Compassion Program

Grief in the workplace

Losing a loved one is tough for anyone, and when it happens to an employee, it creates unique challenges at work. Managers and colleagues often struggle to provide support, unsure of what to say or how to handle the situation.

This can lead to unintentional inappropriate comments or avoiding the topic altogether, leaving the bereaved employee feeling even more isolated. Lack of understanding can deepen their pain and worsen feelings of loneliness, potentially impacting their well-being and even leading to resignations.

That’s where we can help.

The Compassionate Friends Victoria (TCFV) is here to assist you and your staff in learning how to support grieving colleagues. We’ll provide them with the necessary tools and knowledge to create a positive, supportive environment. This will strengthen teamwork and reduce staff turnover, which can cost up to 20% of an employee’s salary. Let us empower your staff to be a source of solace and compassion, transforming your workplace into a space where empathy thrives and nobody feels alone in their time of need.

Discover the Power of Compassion:
Transforming Lives Through Grief Education

In a world where grief remains a misunderstood and often avoided topic, it’s crucial for businesses to grasp its profound impact. Imagine the difference your organisation could make by learning how to support those who have lost a loved one, especially a child, sibling, or grandchild.

Introducing TCFV, a beacon of hope and support for bereaved families. Unfortunately, many individuals remain unaware of our existence and the invaluable services we offer.

Unlocking the potential for growth and compassion, TCFV provides tailored education programs designed to enlighten any audience. Each presentation is skillfully delivered by a trained speaker who has personally experienced the journey of grief.

Our transformative presentations aim to cultivate a deeper understanding of grief, empowering attendees to feel more confident in providing solace to those who have suffered the loss of a precious child, sibling, or grandchild. Moreover, we strive to ignite awareness about our comprehensive support services.

What our Education session involves:

15 minute to 2 hours or more, presentation or workshop from one of our selected volunteer speakers (Business to provide ideal timings)

This can be provided in person or via zoom.
Topics can include:

  • How Grief Works (ideal for workplaces who have lost a team member)
  • Worklife after loss
  • Glimmers workshop – finding glimmers through the triggers

All presentations include an overview of TCFV, our services, speakers story and Q&A.

“It was a lovely opportunity to provide awareness about TCFV while finding out about another service in the community that may offer support to some of our members.” Lisa, Counsellor at Amber Community – Road Incident Support & Education

We understand

TCFV is a peer support organisation dedicated to providing solace and support to bereaved families who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child, sibling, or grandchild. We serve as a sanctuary, offering a safe space for individuals to share their grief and find understanding and compassion from others who have walked a similar path.

Our mission extends beyond providing comfort to families alone. We also actively engage in educating workplaces and our community, equipping teams with the knowledge and tools to comprehend grief and effectively support their grieving colleagues. Through tailored programs and compassionate guidance, we foster empathy, awareness, and resilience, ensuring that no one faces their journey of loss alone.

Our mission within Community Education is clear and resolute:

Amplify Awareness: By spreading the word, we ensure that those in need of our support can find us during their darkest hours.

Foster Community Understanding: We aim to shatter the stigma surrounding grief and encourage open dialogue, empowering every member of the community to engage in heartfelt conversations.

Join us on this paramount journey of compassion and education.

Together, let’s create a world where support and understanding flourish, transforming lives one heartfelt connection at a time.
