Lasting Memorials for Lost and Loved– Buy a Brick

One little brick is all it takes to start to build a home.

Nearly 20 years ago, The Compassionate Friends Victoria often had to move premises due to rental properties no longer being available. A wonderful group of volunteers came together to form the Acorn Foundation, with a dream of The Compassionate Friends Victoria owning their own home to provide a secure and safe environment for all bereaved families to come.

Through numerous fundraising activities, that dream is now a reality with The Compassionate Friends Victoria purchasing a property in Canterbury, Victoria, but we are a long way from “owning” our home.

Once such activity was the ‘Buy a Brick’ Appeal. A ‘Brick’ can be purchased to honour your loved one and is represented as a little brass plaque, engraved with the name and age of your loved one to be placed on a memorial board at the Centre and seen here…

You can buy as many bricks as you like in your loved one’s name such as commemorating a major anniversary or a special birthday etc and each purchase will result in a new plaque for the memorial board.

A brick can be purchased for $110 (inc. GST) per brick, which is tax deductible and a receipt and special card is sent to you. All funds received will go towards the full ownership of The Compassionate Friends Home.
