Melbourne ‘Suicide Awareness Community Walk’ on World Suicide Prevention Day, when you included the name of your loved one in the Memorial Roll.

After the interruption of Covid, we are once again holding this walk – also known as Out of the Shadows – on 10 September.

This event is a collaboration between Support After Suicide, The Compassionate Friends Victoria and Lifeline Melbourne.

The details are below:

• What?       Out of the Shadows Walk, on World Suicide Prevention Day
• When?      Sunday 10 September, 9am-11am
• Where?     Flagstaff Gardens, Lawn 7 (309-311 William St, West Melbourne VIC 3003)

This event includes a short 1km walk around Flagstaff Gardens, a ribbon-tying ceremony, an opportunity to gather, connect and contemplate, and a reading of the Memorial Roll. We know that many events will have a full 9km walk, to recognise the nine people a day who are lost to suicide. If you would like to complete for a full 9km walk, you are welcome to continue with additional laps of the route around Flagstaff Gardens.
